Love Weddings?

July 6, 2010

For various reasons, we are seriously lacking funds for the planning of our wedding. My dad’s current situation makes his ability to help uncertain, especially in the 79 days (and 12 hours!) between now and our wedding. So we are in need of a little help.

We will not go into debt to plan our wedding. We are just cutting costs everywhere that we can. We can live without a cake. We can have minimal decorations. We can skip on professionals and take advantage of the interests and skills of many of our friends.

But there are a few things that we still really hope to do. We really want to feed the people that we did not have to trim from our invitation list. (THAT was a painful, but necessary, process.) We would like to be able to pay our servant-hearted friends who are helping us with so many aspects of the wedding. We would like to have a place near our venue where I can get ready (a step up from the awkward and poorly-lit storage closet). And some of the things that we have already eliminated by necessity would be wonderful to have if we could.

For about a month, I have felt like I should write a quick post and invite anyone to help who might be interested. It is a strangely difficult thing to ACTUALLY do, so I have put it off for a very long time. I apologize for my tardiness. But here it is: your invitation!

Do you want to be a part of making our wedding happen? Do you want to give towards our wedding fund?

You can help with our wedding here, using my PayPal account. Or you can give by any other conventional method of transferring money from one person to another. However you do it, we are truly grateful for your help. If there is a specific aspect that you want your funds to go towards, just let us know.

In other wedding-related things, I will soon be posting my and Ben’s versions of our story.

Prayer is also, as always, a greatly-appreciated and much-need means of helping. Thank you!
